The readers in Song City are waiting for updates, so I'll release this chapter now!

The night passed quietly. Su Can heard Tang Wu's even breathing as she fell asleep beside him and then he too drifted off to sleep at some point. When he woke up the next morning, there was no sign of Tang Wu by his side. Outside in the bathroom, a hairdryer could be heard. Upon stepping out, Su Can saw what was before him and experienced an intense physical reaction once more.

Tang Wu was wearing only a thin white shirt without an undershirt; black straps from her bra were visible through it. She wore short shorts that revealed her long legs, which looked as smooth and fair as jade in the first rays of sunlight. After drying her hair, she came out of the bathroom and saw Su Can. She placed two plates of golden, crispy fried eggs on the table and gave him a faint smile. "I've prepared a new toothbrush for you. Hurry up and wash up before coming to eat. You have class today."

For an instant, Su Can knew that this scene would be one of the most unforgettable moments of the year. Thinking back to this girl's strength and her willingness to sacrifice from last night, his heart ached.

They were still sixteen years old, and it was in this spring of 1999, full of events that could happen or not.

The two then left together. The elderly doorman looked at Su Can with an extremely suspicious gaze as he walked out alongside Tang Wu. However, Tang Wu showed no concern or embarrassment about this and ignored the stare. She pulled Su Can out of the yard and waited for the bus on a sunny morning street, resuming her indifferent demeanor.

"I heard that Tang Wu from Senior One Class Five is taken!" Some people in the circle of Senior One students, including some of the best players on the soccer team, spread this news. They had their own little clique.

"Tang Wu That's impossible. Your class is on the floor below, while our class is right next to theirs. You probably don't know what kind of girl Tang Wu is!" said a bespectacled student with a refined demeanor. He seemed very proud of his knowledge and confidence.

"She’s at the top of her class and destined for universities like Peking University, Tsinghua University, or Fudan University in Shanghai—such an outstanding student couldn't be so narrow-minded as to only care about dating now. Can you really think rationally given how little consideration you've put into this"

Actually, Xue Yiyang was pretty upset. He knew these people; some of them were even classmates back in junior high. When getting on the bus, he greeted them warmly, but most ignored him. He understood why.

A soccer team buddy had recently gotten into a dispute with him. To his surprise, this person merely gave him an indifferent "hm," and his girlfriend glared at Xue Yiyang.

Do you really need to be so rude just because I said hello

This feeling of being excluded by everyone and then getting a glare from a pretty girl made Xue Yiyang quite uncomfortable. He could only sit in an empty seat at the back, inwardly grumbling: "Since you guys don't want to talk to me, why should I tell you about Tang Wu's extraordinary relationship with Su Zhan"

The bespectacled student continued speaking confidently; he was usually the most insightful among them. But this time, it seemed his words fell flat. A girl exclaimed in surprise and disagreement: "Don't you know Last Monday during the flag-raising ceremony, a candidate for Model Student apparently kissed her! This is an indisputable fact."

Half of those who didn’t know about this were stirred up by this revelation. The bespectacled student’s face paled but he chuckled dryly: "Not necessarily; if such a thing happened, it would have caused quite a stir. Many seniors like Ye Zijiang are pursuing Tang Wu, and anyone daring enough to kiss her must be foolish about the consequences. I guarantee that whoever dared do this was beaten up before even leaving school grounds. Are you sure you didn’t see incorrectly due to environmental factors or angles"

"She's telling the truth; the one who kissed Tang Wu is my desk mate, and his name will shock you." Xue Yiyang couldn't hold back any longer and interjected. He intended to create a disturbance and shift attention. Even the girl who claimed she had seen it all laughed now, thinking that if he said he saw it, why not claim he knows US President Clinton to really capture everyone's attention.

This group clearly was influenced by Xue Yiyang’s whispering; when they heard him speak up, their discussion ended. They looked at each other and smiled knowingly, as though listening to a big joke.

Seeing this scene, Xue Yiyang's spirit left his body. It was already bad enough that you guys ignored him when he tried to greet everyone earlier online, but now you're deliberately distancing yourselves from him Isn't a soccer field argument not worth getting so worked up over! But unfortunately for him, there was nothing he could do about it since even talking to him wasn't something they wanted. He could only swallow this anger back and think that he would never acknowledge them again in his lifetime!

“Huh!” Zhuo stood at the bus stop as the doors opened, and sunlight flooded into the vehicle, causing a sudden shift in the atmosphere inside.

The radiant Tang Wu gracefully stepped into the carriage. Her deep brown eyes that shimmered with light were so bright that they seemed to be able to pierce through everyone's hearts. A young boy sitting at the front stopped breathing and tried to look out of the window, but he also wanted to glance at her with his peripheral vision, hoping she might even just briefly cast a glance in his direction.

However, they all saw her turn around, waiting for another man to walk up. This other young man had soft hair and an easygoing demeanor, complete with eyes that matched hers in their calmness.

The light was much sharper now. In this moment, Tang Wu and Su Can were both striking—she with snow-white skin and he with a gentle aura more piercing than sunlight.

As they stepped into the bus, which had previously been noisy, it suddenly fell silent as if underwater at ten thousand meters deep. The passing objects weren’t crows but rather drifting plankton.

Xue Yiyang felt somewhat ashamed of himself. Normally he would excitedly wave to Su Can, but now he couldn't understand why Su Can was walking onto the bus with Tang Wu from this station heading towards school. Xue Yiyang, who had found an excuse for Su Can's sudden disappearance, didn’t dare confront him.

He retreated inward at the back of the carriage, but this did not prevent Su Can’s calm eyes from immediately spotting his former childhood friend now slightly humbled by circumstance.

"Let's sit over there," said Su Can, pointing to two seats toward the rear. Since the bus was relatively empty and there were still a few vacant spots ahead, nearby students couldn't help but feel on edge.

Tang Wu glanced at that direction and smiled at Xue Yiyang before nodding, "Alright."

The two of them glided past the staring crowd and sat at the last row. When Tang Wu settled in, Su Cen held her hand, palmed her waist and abdomen, feeling a softness that seemed boneless, making him want to hold on tighter.

Tang Wu gave him a slight glare; she instantly sensed Su Cen's mischievous mindset.

Next to them was the dumbfounded Xue Yiyang, and from several rows ahead came the sound of students swallowing their saliva in unison.

After they sat down, only then did Su Cen turn to his best friend beside him. "Good morning."

Xue Yiyang was already flushed; sitting so close to Tang Wu and having her warm scent waft past him just now left a lingering impression that quickly dissipated.

The car started moving again, and the ballplayer who had previously had a little conflict with Xue Yiyang was the first to snap out of his stupor. With some stiffness, he extended his right hand only to realize it was holding his equally stunned girlfriend's hand, so he then extended his left hand in an awkward gesture toward Xue Yiyang.

"Hey! Old Schuy!"
